For your crew
What crew members get from CurbsideOps: a Telegram assistant, morning briefings, shift reminders and a crew portal on their phone.
This section is written for crew members. If you run the business, share these pages with new staff on their first day.
Your team uses CurbsideOps to plan events, and you get the parts of it that help you in the field. You do not need a login or a password: everything comes through Telegram and a private link on your phone.
What you get
A Telegram assistant. Your team has its own Telegram bot. Ask it where you are working next, how long the drive is, what the weather looks like, or what to bring. It only knows about your own shifts.
A morning briefing. On days you are working an event, the bot sends you a short message in the morning with your events: time, place, weather, when to leave and the notes for each one. No events today, no message.
Shift notices and reminders. When you are put on a shift, or a shift changes, you get a message with Got it and I have a conflict buttons. Reminders arrive ahead of each shift.
Your crew portal. A private page on your phone with today's shift, directions, the shift brief, your tasks, the time clock and more. See The crew portal.
Availability and time off. Tell your manager when you can work and ask for days off, from the portal or by messaging the bot. See Availability and time off.
Event reports. After an event, you may get a link to a short report form: cup counts, inventory, anything that went wrong.
Getting connected
Install Telegram
Telegram is a free messaging app for iPhone, Android and computers. Install it and sign up with your phone number if you do not have it already.
Open the link your manager sent
Your manager adds you to the team and texts you a link to the bot. Open it on your phone.
Press Start
Telegram opens the bot with a Start button at the bottom. Press it. The bot replies "You're connected" and welcomes you to the team.
Press Start, don't type
Typing a message does not connect you. Only the Start button from your link does. If you typed first, open the link again and press Start.
If you did not get a link, message the bot anything. It replies with your Telegram user ID, a number. Send that number to your manager, who adds it to your profile.
