The morning briefing

The Telegram recap owners and crew get every morning, what is in it, and how to change the time or turn it off.

Every morning your assistant sends a briefing in Telegram so nobody has to open the calendar to know what the day looks like. It is on for every plan and starts working as soon as Telegram and Google Calendar are connected.

What owners get

One message covering the whole operation:

  • A one-line summary of the day.
  • Every event today, one block each: time, place, truck, crew and the notes on the event.
  • Weather for each event's location (and for a home spot a truck is parked at).
  • When to leave, for each event whose truck is known, and the drive time between back-to-back events.
  • Yesterday's sales.
  • Anything a pre-paid event needs to have ready.

The last part of the message carries suggestion buttons for follow-up questions, plus buttons that open the right page in the portal.

What crew get

Each crew member gets a briefing about their own events only: the same time, place, weather, departure time and notes, for the events they are assigned to. Crew never see sales or other people's schedules.

A crew member with no events today gets no briefing at all, so nobody is woken up by an empty message.

Honest about gaps

The briefing is written from the facts CurbsideOps has, looked up fresh each morning. When something is missing, for example an event with no truck or a location the weather service cannot find, the briefing says it is missing instead of guessing.

Change the time or turn it off

Open Automations

Go to Settings, then Automations, and find Morning Briefing.

Set the time

Change Send at. The default is 8:00 in the morning, in your business's time zone (set under Business Settings). The change saves straight away and you see "Schedule updated".

Or switch it off

Use the switch on the card. Owners and crew stop getting the briefing until you switch it back on.

There is one briefing time for the whole business: owners and crew get theirs at the same time.

Send now sends a fresh briefing to your Telegram right away, which is handy for checking how it looks after you change something.

Not getting a briefing?

Check that your Telegram account is linked (the bot replies when you message it), that Google Calendar shows as Working on the Integrations page, and that the Morning Briefing switch is on. Crew only get one on days they are assigned to an event.

Other things the assistant sends

The briefing is one of several scheduled messages. Shift reminders, weather alerts, the end-of-day sales recap and the weekly summary are each their own card on the Automations page, with their own switch and time. See Automations.
