Create and edit events
Add a booking with its brand, address, pricing, trucks and crew, then duplicate or change it later.
An event is a booking on your calendar. Create it once in CurbsideOps and it lands on Google Calendar with everything your crew needs, its brand, and the details your sales and invoices are built from.
Create an event
Open the dialog
On Schedule, click Event at the right end of the toolbar.
Pick the brand
If you run more than one brand, choose one under Brand. It is required: the brand decides the event's color in Google, its packing list and checklists, and which brand's emails the customer gets. With a single brand there is nothing to pick.
Fill in the customer
Under Customer, type the Business name, Contact name, Email and Phone. Pick an existing customer from the suggestions, or keep typing: the dialog tells you when a new organization or contact will be created on save.
Set when and where
Under When & where, set the date and times and the Location. The location must be a full street address with its ZIP code, because pre-pay pages, drive times and tax all depend on it. If the search cannot find the place, use Enter address manually.
Repeats turns the booking into a series. See Recurring events.
Choose the pricing
The Sales section sets how this event is priced, using your brand's arrangements: Menu (guests pay at the truck), Package (the host pays a flat fee), Minimum (the host guarantees a floor), or More for the brand's other templates. Whatever you pick here, plus the customer you linked, is already filled in when you open the event's Sales later. See Pricing arrangements.
Add the truck and save
Under Operations, pick one or more Trucks, then click Create event.
Crew comes after the first save
The Assignments section opens once the event exists. Save it, then open it again to assign staff.
Edit an event
Click the event on Schedule to open it, change what you need, and click Save changes. Edits show in the portal at once and reach Google in the background (see Schedule).
If you change the brand of an existing event, CurbsideOps asks you to confirm, because the brand decides the event's checklists, packing list and emails.
Events on a calendar you can only view (a shared calendar someone else owns) say This event comes from a shared calendar. You can still assign crew, record sales and fix the contact details with Edit contact; those changes stay in CurbsideOps and are never written to that calendar.
Duplicate an event
Repeat business is easier to copy than to retype. Open the event, click More actions (the three dots in the footer) and choose Duplicate event. The create dialog opens with the title, brand, times, place, contact, notes, linked customer and pricing filled in, and a Copy of banner on top. Pick the new date and save.
The truck, the crew and any sales figures are not copied, since they belong to the original date. An event from a calendar you can only view offers Duplicate to my calendar instead, and the copy goes on your own calendar.
Assign trucks
The Trucks picker takes one truck or several. The first one is marked Primary; see Events with several trucks.
The picker locks a truck that another event already holds at that time, and warns you when a truck has a booking right before or after.
On Professional and Premium, Suggest a truck checks drive times, setup time and the rest of each truck's day, then offers the best fit. Click Use with the truck's name to take it, then save. It needs a start and end time first.
Assign crew and tell them
In Assignments, add the people working the event. Suggest ranks your staff by availability, shift preference and how busy they already are that day.
Assigning someone does not message them by itself. When you are ready, click Notify in the event's Assignments to message the people whose assignment changed. To send a whole day or week at once, use Notify staff on Schedule. People whose details changed since their last message are marked so you know who still needs to hear.
The Brand line and Google color
Every event CurbsideOps writes to Google carries a Brand: line in its description and the brand's Google Calendar color, so anyone reading the calendar can tell your brands apart. The color is set in the brand's settings on the General tab, under Google Calendar color. Google has eleven event colors; leave it on automatic and CurbsideOps picks the one closest to your brand color.
For events CurbsideOps created before you set this up, click Apply to existing events under the color picker. It shows what it will change first, then updates upcoming events on calendars you can edit. Events on a shared calendar you can only view are never touched.
Delete an event
Open the event, click More actions, then Delete event. If the event has a job, sales or crew attached, CurbsideOps lists what goes with it before anything is removed.
If a customer has already paid an invoice, the event cannot be deleted with its records. Choose Delete calendar event only to keep the sales and invoices, or use Cancel an event to refund the customer properly.
