Customer status page

Give your customer one live link to follow their booking, from getting ready to on site, so they never have to call to ask where the truck is.

"Where's the truck?" is the call nobody wants during setup. The customer status page answers it for you. Your customer gets one link, opens it on their phone, and sees where their booking stands.

  1. 1

    Scheduled

The booking is confirmed and the date is set.

  2. 2

    Preparing

Your crew is getting the truck ready.

  3. 3

    On the way

The truck is driving to the event, with an arrival estimate.

  4. 4

    On site

The truck has arrived and is setting up or serving.

  5. 5

    Completed

The event is over. Thanks for booking.

What your customer sees on their status page

What the customer sees

The page shows your brand, the event, and one of these stages:

  • Scheduled: the booking is confirmed.
  • Preparing: your crew is getting the truck ready.
  • On the way: the truck is driving there, with an arrival estimate in whole minutes.
  • On site: the truck has arrived.
  • Completed: the event is over.
  • Cancelled, if the booking was called off.

The page never shows a map or the truck's location, only words and minutes.

Once the page has seen the truck on the road, it never goes back to Scheduled. If it loses track (the tracker goes quiet, or it cannot tell which truck is going), it shows a neutral "live status unavailable" note instead of guessing.

Live truck status

The On the way and On site stages come from your Bouncie GPS. To use them, open the brand's settings, find Customer status page on the General tab, and switch on Show live truck status. It needs Bouncie connected and a truck the page can tie to the event: the brand's only active truck, or the one named on the event. From two hours before the start, the page follows the truck, and calls it on site once it is within half a mile of the address.

If the truck is running far enough behind to miss the start, the page says so, so the customer hears it from you rather than wondering.

Open the job

Open the event on Schedule and go to its job window. The status link sits at the top of the Prep step.

Click Create link. The row changes to Customer status link active.

Send it

Click Send and pick Email or Text message, or Copy the link to paste it yourself. The row shows where it has already gone (Emailed, Texted), and Send again reuses the same link.

Every job has one link. Sending it again, by email after a text or by hand after an automatic send, always sends the same link, so a link your customer already has keeps working.

The link stops working two hours after the event ends.

Only two things end a live link, and both ask you first:

  • Replace makes a new link and retires the old one. The confirmation lists which sends the old link went out on, so you know who will have a dead link, and can send the new one on the same channels. Anyone opening the old link is told it was replaced.
  • Revoke turns the link off with no replacement. Use it when the customer should no longer see the page. A revoked job is also left out of automatic sends, until you create a new link.

Send it automatically

Instead of remembering to share each link, let CurbsideOps send it before every event.

Turn on the automation

In Automations, switch on Customer Status Link. Its Send before event setting picks how early it goes out: 2 hours (the default), 4 hours, 12 hours or 1 day.

Opt in each brand

In the brand's settings, under Customer status page on the General tab, switch on Send the link automatically and pick Email and text, Email only or Text only.

Each event gets the link once. A customer with no email or mobile number on file, or who opted out, is skipped on that channel without blocking the other one. A channel the link already went out on by hand is skipped too, so nobody gets two copies. Sharing a link by hand still works and does not cancel the automatic send.

Premium

Status links, including the automatic send, are part of Premium. See Plan and billing.
