Calls

Every incoming call matched against your customers, with a live banner while the phone rings and one click to turn a call into a lead.

When your business line rings, CurbsideOps tells you who is calling before you pick up, and gives you a place to write down what was said. A call about a booking becomes a lead in one click, so a phone inquiry gets the same follow-through as an email.

What you need

Calls come from Quo, the phone service behind your business number. Connect it on the Integrations page. Until it is connected, the Calls page offers Open Integrations and Log a call manually.

The incoming-call banner

While a call is ringing, a banner appears at the top of every portal page with Incoming call and the caller's name, or New caller when the number is not on file. If the browser tab is in the background, you also get a desktop notification.

  • Take the call opens the call so you can take notes while you talk.
  • Dismiss hides the banner.

When the call ends, the banner says "Call just ended" with Log details, so the notes get written while you still remember them.

Who is calling

CurbsideOps matches the caller by the last 10 digits of the number, against your customers' phone, mobile and extra numbers, then against organizations' main lines. The call is filed under the brand that owns the Quo number that was called.

Numbers change hands, so a match is a suggestion. If the caller does not match anyone, the call's Caller card offers It's them to pick the right customer, or Create new customer. If a lead was linked to the wrong person because of an old number, fix it from the lead's Customer card (see Leads).

The Calls page

Calls lists incoming calls from the last 7 days. Filter by Needs attention, All, Missed or Handled. Each row shows the caller, the brand, how long ago and how long the call was, and a one-line summary.

Click Log a call manually to record a call that did not come through Quo, such as one to your mobile.

Working a call

Open a call to see:

  • Caller: who it is, and any open opportunities they have.
  • Call summary: the summary Quo wrote, and the Recording when there is one.
  • The booking details the call mentioned, collected for you.
  • Previous notes and your own Call notes.

At the bottom, check the brand it is Filing under (click Change if it is wrong), then:

Click Create lead to start a new lead from the call. Details from the call (date, place, headcount) fill the lead's checklist, marked as coming from a call. If the caller already has a lead, click Link to existing lead instead.

Mark it handled

Click Mark as handled so it leaves the Needs attention list.

Handling a call, linking it or creating a lead from it clears it from your to-do count.

Missed calls

Calls nobody answered are filed as missed. Use the Missed filter to call people back.

  • Leads: what happens after Create lead.
  • Messages: texts to and from the same Quo numbers.
  • Customers: extra phone numbers are kept on the customer, so later calls still match.
